Order up! What can we get for you today?
A milkshake? A big, juicy cheeseburger? Or maybe any type of flavor ice cream your little heart desires? Whatever you order at the Sunshine Sunflowers cafe, just know it's always service with a smile! So how did we include math, literacy, fine motor and socialization skills in our dramatic play area? Come and see!

The little learners ALWAYS love having jobs and responsibilities at school (especially when it involves play!) Our teacher has made the cutest name tags on lanyard (for chef, server, delivery driver, cashier, customer, etc.)..which means, TEAMWORK makes the DREAM WORK! Working together has the greatest potential for strong communication skills and problem solving skills...what could be better than that?

Students are building math skills through play at the Diner! They are sorting the food items, selecting how many of each item to cook and counting money. How smart are they?

Look! The chef is reading the ticket the server filled out! The Diner is FULL of reading experiences too! Students are reading signs, food orders, labels, and menus.
Dramatic play is a BIG social center for all children. Social skills students develop are turn-taking, negotiating and compromising about plans for play, sharing, waiting, resolving conflict, and expressing feelings and ideas through appropriate language and gestures. Students are developing self-regulation through PLAY and having FUN!
