Is there anything better than a Farmers Market when the weather starts to become warmer and the sun shines brighter? Well, I think having the cutest smiles from the little Preschoolers at our classroom Farmers Market greet you is WAY better, and cheaper too! Did you know there is a ton of math, literacy, and fine motor included in our dramatic play area? Keep reading and find out how!
“Lettuce turnip the beet."

We have created food labels at our Market which the Preschoolers love identifying! They can find the picture of the food, read the letters and numbers and purchase some delicious food. There is nothing better when you see those wheels start turning!

One of my favorite items in our Farmers Market play area is our DIY garden. Who knew a few pool noodles and some good old imagination could come up with something so wonderful! Our friends can get their hands "dirty" in our garden to grow some delicious AND nutritious food for the Farmers Market. We encourage matching the colors and/or vegetable/fruit category for some extra learning fun!

We have added this shopping list to get students reading and writing during play. Remember reading pictures is reading and scribbling is writing! Plus, theres something about holding a clipboard that the little ones can't get enough of!
Excuse us...we have to get back to playing!
