We love camping at Let's Grow! Learning about nature, forest animals, insects, the night sky, rivers, fishing and smores ALWAYS get our students interested and excited to come to school. In this post, I want to share some of my camping themed activities I do in the classroom with my little learners.

Once the campsite was open, students LOVED having picnics. Setting up the picnic blanket, basket, dishes and yummy food was a great way for my little learners to develop one-to-one correspondence.
Students were able to “build” their fire, roast marshmallows and tell stories by the fire. We even got to eat some yummy s'mores with our friends as well!
You can't go camping without some good ol' fishing...plus there are so many ways to embed many learning opportunities into fishing. Students were able to count the fish, measure how big they are and sort them by color or size!

How adorable are these art projects?!
We just couldn't get enough of the campfire handprints! So easy to make, and they are the best keepsake for our parents as well.
At the start of the week, each camper made their very own camper nametag along with a campsite- see those little learners in the tents??!

We ended our week with the coolest color and letter camp centers! Each camper was able to create letters using play-doh and sort out color blocks onto the colors of camping sheets!
WHO KNEW CAMPING WOULD BE THIS FUN!?
