Old MacDonald had a farm, and so did we! It is the perfect theme you can do either in the Spring when farmers are busy planting crops or in the Fall during harvest. There is so much to do on the farm, which made the ideas and options for sensory, fine motor, writing and art endless!
“Old MacDonald had a farm, Ee-I-Eee-I-O...and on that farm he had a ---"

Talk about a super fun sensory bin activity! We started off by filling it with corn kernels, adding some farm animals, a farm and a few tractors.Students can make their very own farm, pretend to be the farmer OR one of the animals, or even just scoop and play with the corn kernels. The possibilities are endless, which is what makes sensory activities SO enjoyable!

We had a blast sorting out these cute farm animals! Placed on the tables were green, red and blue construction paper. (Of course the little ones had the most fun dumping ALL of the animals in the middle of the table and mixing them up!) The students then began sorting each animal by color and would shout out what animal they found in the pile! Once all were sorted, the counting would begin!

Muddy pigs may very well be my FAVORITE muddy activity, and I'm sure the parents love this one too (no messy shirts today!) Each child gets their very own cute piggy in a Ziploc bag. We filled this big bag with brown paint(mud) and shaving cream. Then...you guessed it, time to muddy up those pigs by squishing MUD EVERYWHERE! This activity goes great with the song "5 Muddy Pigs"!
"Down at the farm
by the big blue lake.
Were five muddy pigs
for goodness sake!
One jumped in
and the mud washed away,
now that pig is ready to play!"

Paper plates, and popsicle sticks and handprints, oh my!
Our walls this week were FILLED with the cutest art projects. Aside from the handprint, each child did their art independently...and we couldn't be MORE PROUD!

Well howdy partner!
Our Pre-K class held their very own Rodeo and Hoedown while learning all about Texas this week! Once they were done decorating their very own cowboy/cowgirl hats...our students dug into the dress up bin to come up with these cute outfits.
Thanks for stopping in and
We'll see ya'll later!
