Valentines Day Treats

Ah, Valentine's Day. One of our favorite holiday's at Let's Grow! The halls are decorated from floor to ceiling with red, white and pink streamers, hundreds of hearts hanging on the classroom doors..and most importantly, the smell of melted chocolate and fresh strawberries!

At school? YUP.

Ingredients used:

  • fresh strawberries

  • Rice Krispies (cut into hearts)

  • melting chocolate (brown, red, pink and white)

  • sprinkles

The little Let's Growers were some busy bees making dozens of chocolate covered strawberries and candy molds for mom, dad, grandma, grandpa...and of course themselves! (cue the "accidental" drop of chocolate onto the top of their hands for maximum licks.) They were able to do this all on their own. They picked each chocolate they wanted to use, took their forks and started dipping.

Once the dipping was complete, it was time to decorate with endless toppings! These delicious strawberries were packed into handmade Valentine's bags for our loved ones.

Onto our Sweetheart smoothies!

Ingredients used:

  • fresh strawberries

  • frozen banana slices

  • vanilla yogurt

  • milk

  • whipped cream

  • sweetheart sprinkles

If there is something Preschoolers are experts at, it's measuring and pouring! Talk about independent. To top it off, each student was able to have a "job" during smoothie making and they did such a wonderful job sharing and communicating.

Time to blend!

Now that this delicious treat is blended up, it's decorating time! Our teachers went around and gave every student a generous amount of whipped cream, and those little hands went to work sprinkling on some cute pink and red hearts.

Talk about topping it off!

“Sweet treats on Valentine’s Day help us remember to be sweet to each other. And you’re one of the sweetest kids ever!”
