Polar bears, and snowmen and pizza, oh my!
We are warming up at our Center with some mini pizzas and fluffy, warm pancakes.

Our friend's measured out the pancake mixture into measuring cups and poured it into the big bowl. Next, they put those extra strong muscles to work until all the ingredients were incorporated.
Once the teacher made them on the stove, the little ones jumped right in to give their polar bear pancakes some eyes, a nose and a dusting of powdered sugar!
We added some sliced up fruit on the side to make this a super healthy, delicious and nutritious breakfast!

Ingredients used:
3 round crackers
1/4 cup pizza sauce
1/4 cup shredded cheese
diced up vegetables (peppers, tomatoes, onions)
There is something so magical about children making pizza! The way their faces light up when they can assemble their very own, one of a kind pizza all on their own... it is special. Before we began, we read Frosty The Snowman and reminded the students that,
"Frosty the snowman,
was a jolly happy soul.
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
and two eyes made out of coal."
They began to ask themselves, what would MY snowman's face look like and how many circles will my snowman have? Those wheels then started turning! There were onion eyes, big green pepper noses, and even a cheese scarf! The teacher then heated them up slightly until the cheese melted.
These. were. devoured.

Food is so much more than just eating, and this recipe proves just that.
We communicate. We count. We measure. We watch science take over. We laugh. AND we eat.
Stay warm friends!
